Sasha A. Alston is a change agent committed to diversity, inclusion, and innovation. She is the President and CEO of Sasha Ariel Ventures, a social enterprise startup that provides digital and print learning solutions to increase the critical skills students need to excel in school, career, and life. She is the author of two children’s books in the “Sasha Savvy” book series: Sasha Savvy Loves to Code and Sasha Savvy Starts it Up, both highly praised and instant best-sellers. Through STEM references and the power of storytelling, the books open pathways for girls to be confident problem-solvers and entrepreneurs, while expressing creativity and having fun.
A Gen Zer now, ever since a teen, Sasha has been committed to empowering and advocating for women and girls through sharing her own experiences, especially the challenges she has faced and how she overcame them. She began her entrepreneurial journey at age 14 with a babysitting business, followed by a successful Ebay store at 16, and then by publishing her first book at 19. Her early business savvy prepared her to develop a globally recognized brand with her Sasha Savvy book series and products that have reached markets in Japan, UK, and Australia, to name a few.
Sasha is a sought-after speaker who has offered inspiration and thought leadership at K-12 schools and universities across the country and at industry-leading campaigns and events at major organizations including Disney, Amazon, Facebook, Google, Snapchat, Microsoft, Girl Scouts, and the Smithsonian. Her work has been featured in several national media outlets such as Business Insider, Black Enterprise, the Atlantic, Good Morning America, ABC and Fox News, C-SPAN, and ESPN’s Undefeated. She was also given a nod by HuffPost when featured on its list of “Inspiring Young Women Who Are Leading the Way in STEM”.
